I have a 1967 Mustang, when I bought him the front right brake was locking up. I have replaced the master cylinder, wheel cylinders (they are drum brakes), shoes, and bled the brakes til all of the air and old fluid was out. The front right brake still appears to be getting all of the pressure, it makes an awful grinding noise with a bit of a vibration, and doesn't really stop well, and pulls a bit that way. My hope is I failed at adjusting the shoes, but this seems a bit severe for that. . . does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Maybe a proportioning valve problem, coupled with poor shoe adjustment? The light on my dash that says "BRAKE" is also lit up, is the proportioning valve problem the only thing that makes this light come on?
If too much power is applied to the front brake, then the momentum of the rider propels him/her over the handlebars, thereby flipping the bicycle. The skidding of the rear wheel can serve as a signal to reduce force on the front brake; a skillful cyclist in effect becomes a human anti-lock braking machine, thus they must use both front and back brakes
