Although a little more compact than a standard sedan, the 2004 Pontiac Vibe is still considered a midsize vehicle because of its spacious, 111-cubic-foot interior. It technically seats five people, although seating three adults in the back might be tight. However, the back seat is large enough for two average-sized people to sit comfortably, which is an appealing feature for families. With a cargo capacity of 52 cubic feet when the seats are down, the Vibe provides a surprising amount of storage – especially when combined with the additional 19 cubic feet available on the roof rack, which comes standard with this vehicle. The 2004 Pontiac Vibe also comes with chrome tie-downs to make it easy to transport bicycles or other equipment.
The base 130-hp, 1.8-liter, four-cylinder 2004 Pontiac Vibe is available with a five-speed manual transmission or four-speed automatic transmission. The all-wheel drive has a slightly lower horsepower of 123 hp. The Pontiac Vibe GT also has a 1.8-liter engine, but it kicks out a higher horsepower of 173 hp. This model comes with a six-speed manual transmission and boasts a smoother drive when running on premium fuel.
Vehicle: 2004 Pontiac Vibe Bought this car 2 years ago with 141000 miles and now has 235000. By far the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned! Nice gas mileage on highway with outstanding handling. Would buy another in a second! Only normal maintenance......brakes, tires, o2 sensor but that's it. Only complaints are: driver seat sits too low and side view mirrors are unreliable. But overall a really terrific automobile. Highly recommend.
